Is no news good news?

January 10th, 2008 by paul

Or am I about to get rodgered up the shitter by o2? I dunno.

Following on from this post about my GPRS charges last week, I decided to give them a call on Monday to see how things were going on the report that they had raised on the usage. No news yet. Still takes about a week to sort out. Or so they say. So I gave them a couple more days to get on with it.

I call them this morning, and I get a miserable woman called Rosie at their end. SO I explained what I’m chasing up, and guess what? Still no news! But she did send an email to the technical chappie to give me a call and let me know where he’s up to. That was about 9:15 this morning. It’s now 10:35 and still no call from him. I have a feeling that this is going to go on for ages.

I’ll give them until tomorrow, then I’m going to call them up again. If I still don;t get anymore news from them, I’m going to cancel the direct debit I have, and then I’m sure that they’ll

A/ Give me the answers that I want
or
B/ Send me to court for non-payment of £1,019.40

I also got an email from BT the other day saying that I went 15gb over my monthly usage. But being that they’re so kind, they wont charge me on this occasion. But next time they’ll charge me 30p per gb over the norm. That’ll teach me for downloading demos, games and movies from Xbox Live!

So far, technology-wise, and a few personal bits, 2008 has been a bit shit. I’m hoping that it can only get better, but that would be tempting fate, wouldn’t it…

Dude, what have you been downloading? At 15GB over you’d have filled your Xbox HDD !! That’s if it was empty to begin with.

Have you been download *those* films again?

  2. paul Says:

I have an Elite you know. 120gb of pure bigger HDD than youness…

    And I haven’t touched those films for…oooh…hours!

  3. Gareth Says:

I still love you. Surely that counts for some good news?

  4. Duncan Says:

And we all know what a bigger HDD is compensation for.

    What?

I meant for buying a PS3, like Paul did? Dirty people!!!

Getting charged is sucky though. Which BT BB Option are you on out of interest?

  5. stuart Says:

so you are the one who has been screwing up xbox live over the last few weeks.

I think I’m on the Option 1 package. Not even sure how much that costs tbh!

  7. Duncan Says:

Ahh that would explain it. BT are stingy on their Gb download limits, as are most providers. Option 1 is only 5Gb per month, Option 2 is 8Gb, but Option 3 is unlimited (monitored by a fair use policy) which we’re on. Playing on Live shouldn’t cause a problem, but yeah, if you’re grabbing a ton of demos and videos and films from the Marketplace, that could fuck you over. Consider that most demos are between 700Mb and 1.2Gb, it’s easy to use it up. Never mind what you may download via your Mac or PC.

Your phone bill should say which option BB you’re on.

did’nt they just drop the price for option 3 to only 24.99 a month as thats what option i’m on.

Just to make things even worse when BT Vision launches on Xbox live it will be even worse if you want to watch tv on that because that would really kill your monthly usage if you are only on option 1+2
