Assassins Creed worth £25 ?

I popped into my local GAME store this weekend, as you do, and found Assassins Creed at a knock down price of just £24.99. I knew Duncs had recently had a stab at it and hadn’t rated it that much. I’d played a demo and again was a bit ‘meh!’ about it but I thought, what the hell, £25 is only going to get me just over half way to Burnout Paradise.
True to form and reviews I’ve played it for a couple of hours and at the moment I think it’s one of the best games I’ve seen for a while. It certainly ranks up high amongst CoD4, Bioshock, Gears of War and a couple of others I can’t be bothered to think of right now. Whether or not I think the same after a few more hours remains to be seen. Maybe I’m slightly biased as I have paid less than full price for it. Had I paid the full £40 I might have felt differently.
What do you all think of the game? Post away.

I feel a bit “meh” by Assassin’s creed at the moment. For some bizare reason, I just can’t get into it. I’ll just have to sit down and force myself to get it played.
Good news though, I did get CoD4 at the weekend, and proceeded to finish it on the same day! First time ever that I’ve managed to do that, although I did do it on easyish. Next stop, Veteran difficulty!

AC is one of those games that you only get the best out of if you play it as it’s meant to be played. Stick with me on this one.
You’re an assassin right? So you need to use you’re noggin’, sneaky sneaky, use the environment to your advantage, practice your sword skills to get out of trouble and know the area you’re in. Play it that way, than thinking you’re in a game of Halo (bad example I know but it’s the only one I could think of) where run and gun, or slash in this case, is the order of the day, and it’ll become a bit tedious because the game just isn’t designed to be that kind of title.
AC is a slow burner. I’ve only gone through 3 of the 9 assassinations so far, mainly due to distraction by other games, and real life, but my initial thoughts were changed by the time I’d done the second kill.
Plus you’ll not get tired of free-running around the worlds, or using the arm knife for silent kills.
I think it suffered from a bit too much hype pre-release but it’s a solid title and worthy of any 360/PS3/PC etc. owners attention.
